All band students will benefit from fundraising done by students and parents. We have operating expenses and items that we purchase and donate to the band, in addition to the money needed for awards and the band banquet.
For those participating in the band trip, we have this policy:
In order to keep record-keeping at a minimum, all fundraising money will go into one "pot." When the fundraising is completed for the trip, the amount raised will be evaluated to see how it will be divided. We will take a percentage off the total (determined by how much is actually raised) to set aside for the students who earned it by meeting the criteria for a "grant." The balance is equally divided amongst ALL students participating in the trip who earned the grant.

Criteria for the grant are as follows:
- Students who participate in at least three (3) fundraisers from the list on the Trip Grant Fundraisers will be eligible for a grant .
- If the fundraiser is merchandising, at least five (5) items must be sold for that particular fundraiser.
- If the fundraising is non-selling, such as a car wash, at least two (2) hours of time must be invested in that activity.
Notification of the final payment amount will be announced at least one week prior to the due date.
In addition to raising money for the trip grant and general fundraising there is also supplemental fundraising. . At times we may also run a 50/50 and sell refreshments at various concert events. This fundraising goes towards general operating expenses and buying supplies for the band students at different events.
